mother's day

Hey, we had a baby! He’s super cute! His name is Jules Milan. Jules as in Jules Verne. Or if you’d prefer (as Robbie does), Pulp Fiction’s Jules Winnfield. We didn’t name him after anyone, but it helps people with the concept that Jules is a boys name and not just a nickname for their friend Julia. Milan is my dad’s name.

STATS: Born: April 29 at 7:01pm 21 INCHES / 8 POUNDS 12 OUNCES

So far the only one crying in the middle of the night is Jules (let’s give it a couple of weeks). He has been cluster feeding for a week, which is a lot. Most of the day and night I’m nursing every couple of hours and it takes half an hour to nurse him. You do the math. And I’m definitely feeling the lack of sleep. I walk into rooms and forget what I came for and a couple of days ago I rested my tea on the bed for five seconds then forgot it and it tipped over. Green tea would have been fine but it was milky chai tea so the blanket needs to be washed. Also my slippers and a patch of the rug.

So I’m not quite ready to write the “Jules Milan – A Birth Story” post, mostly because writing about emotional stuff when you are nursing a newborn on very little sleep is never a good idea. So here are a couple of pics of Jules instead.
