On Saturday night we had a storm here. The regular 9 to 5 folks of the south shore mightn’t have noticed it come through around 2am but we did. Bennett has had one of his fevers since Friday and he was burning through the night, which meant I was making visits every three hours for the old Tylenol/Motrin/Tylenol/Motrin trick. Finn was up because of the thunder and Jules has been on a growth spurt and is nursing every three hours through the night, because apparently 16 pounds at three months isn’t good enough – he wants to take the title of Sumo baby from that kid in Kansas.
When I’m tired I’m really not good for anything. I know that about myself. One good thing did come out of my tiredness on Sunday though. A bath-toy overhaul. I’m writing about it in tomorrow’s blog post.
I also started a facebook group for smart mamas. I kind of hate facebook mamas groups because of the sheer volume of gossip and mom shaming on them. The convener of the SAHM group that I just left posted a picture of a woman in labor doing her make up, with the caption “Does this pic annoy anyone else? … Worry about your baby and a safe delivery! Not what you look like.” So over the weekend I started my own Facebook group for mamas who want to support each other in a safe environment. Stay tuned.
