UPDATE: For those who have asked, the rug is from Arhaus but I can’t remember the name of it!
We’ve been doing some re-arranging of furniture at our house. Mum is coming from Sydney to stay for a couple of months in March, so we’ve made the office into a guest bedroom. Before we moved everything out, I put all the papers, books, toys and stale goldfish into a big box and took photos so I can remember what this room might have looked like had I ever kept it tidy.
Last time mum was here we were literally moving into this house. She was a huge help while we packed boxes and then unpacked them again, painted and cleaned and bought furniture. I’m excited for her to get to see the house (pretty much) finished.
But this office will be gone when she gets here and in it’s place, a comfy guest bedroom where she will have privacy and her own bathroom. So goodbye lovely office, I wish I’d kept you this tidy in real life.
We’re using the Pottery Barn Daily System to get organized. Nice in theory but if I’m honest, I use my calendar on my iPhone so this is just decoration really. I put all of my appointments up at the beginning of the month but anything added after around the 3rd of the month doesn’t make it to the board. So it may even be counter productive.
The chair is a cheap little swivel number I got on Amazon. It does the job and it’s comfy if you’re not sitting for hours at a time.
This is the room before we moved in. The walls are Benjamin Moore Linen White and a kind of pale gray.
The Bernhardt Salon Desk is absolutely dreamy. So feminine and glamorous. But… and this is kinda huge, it gets marked and scuffed up so easily. If you want to buy the desk, I’d suggest you also buy a custom piece of glass to go on top of it. The marks, whether they are ballpoint pen or lead pencil (I’m not even kidding) will not come off, no matter what you do.
The room is painted in Benjamin Moore Dove White, like much of the house. I had originally decided to paint this room Stonington Gray which ended up being a totally unexpected (read: blue) experience, so I defaulted back to my old faithful.
