BENJAMIN MOORE DOVE WHITE BATHROOM

When we moved into this house two years ago, Robbie was recovering from his back injury and we had a 3 year old and a 1 year old. It was nice to find a place that really didn’t need a lot of work. That was the rationale anyway – I ended up painting nearly every room, resurfacing the textured ceilings and updating most of the window treatments.

I wanted to replace the vanity in this room but just changing out the hardware and painting the walls turned out to be enough of an update. The room was easy to paint because there was no cutting-in required. I just painted the entire room, floor to ceiling in Benjamin Moore Dove White. I painted much of the house in Dove White and I still absolutely love the color, or lack thereof. It’s just the right cream to gray balance so that it’s warm in winter and cool in summer.

The bathroom didn’t look bad in this color (which is Benjamin Moore Shaker Beige), but it made the room look smaller than it is. The Dove White opened it up and made it feel so much lighter.

There’s not a lot of cabinet space in this room so this skinny shelving unit behind the door is handy. I don’t like that it’s open because I had to shove everything to the back of the shelves to take this picture. But doesn’t it look pretty when it’s tidy?

Beautiful update. Couldn’t be more different. Are you going to be doing more house updates? I catch glimpses on Insta and I’d love to see more. :)

Hey Helen, you really know your colors. The difference is very obvious. The lighter color seems to let more light and air into the room. I think we tend to forget how important this little room is to the feel of the whole house. Thanks for giving us the name of the paint and the manufacturer. It makes it too easy for the rest of us.
