BENJAMIN MOORE DOVE WHITE BATHROOM
When we moved into this house two years ago, Robbie was recovering from his back injury and we had a 3 year old and a 1 year old. It was nice to find a place that really didn’t need a lot of work. That was the rationale anyway – I ended up painting nearly every room, resurfacing the textured ceilings and swapping out most of the window treatments and some of the hardware on cabinets etc.
I wanted to replace the vanity in this room but just replacing the hardware on it and painting the room gave it the update it needed to keep me happy until we can do a remodel. The room was easy to paint because there was no real cutting-in required. I just painted the entire room, floor to ceiling in Benjamin Moore Dove White. I painted much of the house in Dove White and I still absolutely adore the color, or lack thereof. It’s warm when you want it to be and cool when you want it to be. Just the right cream to gray balance.
The bathroom didn’t look bad in this color (which is Benjamin Moore Shaker Beige), but it made the room look smaller than it needed to be. The Dove White opened it up and made the room feel so much lighter.
There’s not a lot of cabinet space in this room so this skinny shelving unit behind the door is handy. I don’t like that it’s open because I had to shove everything to the back of the shelves to take this picture. But doesn’t it look pretty when it’s tidy?
